CHRISTMAS BREAK IN THE COUNTRY

Christmas Eve – A warm welcome awaits you as you arrive at your leisure to a roaring log fire, swags of greenery and a seasonal air of anticipation. After refreshing from your journey join us in the bar to meet fellow guests and your hosts. Later in the evening a candlelit 3- course dinner will be served in the intimate surroundings of the Cottage restaurant. Traditional fireside mulled wine and mince pies will be served after midnight mass.

Christmas Day – Rise at leisure to the peace and tranquillity of the country and after a hearty English breakfast, a Christmas day stroll of discovery around this old market town will help build up an appetite for a special traditional five course Christmas Day Lunch. The afternoon is yours to kick back and rest, enjoy the traditional Queens speech or some idle banter in the bar. A light carved buffet and Christmas cake will be served later in the evening.

Boxing Day – Its time for a breath of fresh air! After a home cooked full English breakfast for the morning sustenance, why not join the traditional meet of the Cottesmore Hunt followed by a drive around the picturesque villages of Rutland including a visit to Rutland Water is highly recommended. The hotel restaurant will be open for lunch and traditional roasts will be served as an extra option. A classical string ensemble by talented young musicians will be the highlight of the evening candlelit dinner.

27th December – After a leisurely full English breakfast the management and staff will bid you a fond farewell.
